Korean Class Day 1

Went to check my placement test results and got a huge shock. I would probably have spitted out water if I was drinking. >.< I was placed in the advanced 2 class, which is like the highest level!! (omg i don’t belong there)

There were only 6 of us in the class, and all were Korean-Americans except me >.< There were people who left Korea only when they were in the middle school etc. They were really fun people, but I just feel stressed out when they ask the teacher to go faster. ㅠㅠ

Now I can really relate to how foreign kids etc must have felt when they were put into the mainstream classes for English when they moved abroad to Canada, the States etc. A total idiot. >.< When I learnt about it during linguistics classes, I didn’t really understand the pressure the kids must have felt. A Korean friend who moved to Canada once told me how she felt so stressed up and depressed in English classes, but all I could do was to assure her things will get better.

I think I need to assure myself now. >.<

I’m going to need to put in 100000x the effort in order to survive! I thought of dropping a level, but the teacher thinks it’s alright. mmmm. just don’t fail me at the exams later on. oops.

Okay, off to prepare for today’s lesson~~

Language learning should be a fun and motivating process. If you are feeling stress out, maybe you could talk to the teacher to go down a notch? 🙂
