I discovered Springnote a few days ago and I’m really very very excited about it! I’m pretty much technologically un-savvy, so I’m not sure if you all have already known about it! Basically, Springnote is something like an online notebook that you can create for multiple purposes. You can use it to manage a project, as a personal scheduler, personal diary etc. As for me, I’m going to use it as a tool to study foreign languages!
Some of you may know that I have a series of notebooks that I write in when I’m studying Korean. Most of the time, I prefer old fashioned notebooks where I will pen down everything but I can’t deny the advantages of an online notebook! I always come across new information/knowledge on the internet etc and most of the time, I do not have my notebooks with me. I may end up writing it on a scrap of paper but most of the time, I’ll just try to commit it to memory (and failing). With an online notebook, I can just type it out somewhere and it’s easy to organise everything too!
You can arrange your pages according to your preferences and adding/deleting items is so much more convenient compared to a traditional notebook. Currently, I have a page devoted to all the slangs/colloquial expressions that I come across. In that way, everything is organised. I’m also planning to add a page where I will jot down questions I have about Korean (: I used to have several pieces of paper/word docs with random questions – I can now keep everything neat and tidy in my notebook!
You can also create a group notebook where several contributors can add on to the content etc. The only gripe I have about Springnote is that it does not allow non-users to comment on the pages ): Springnote is currently available in Korean, Japanese and English (which I realised belatedly!), so don’t worry about not being able to navigate the pages!
Overall I think it’s a great way to organise your study!
I can’t decide whether the notebook should be personal or intended to share what I’ve learnt with others. (>,<) I’m writing in a mixed of Korean and English right now. Do let me know your opinions! ^^
p.s. Apologies for the lack of updates and replies. I upgraded my broadband plan and there was a disruption in service!
