Happy 8th anniversary

No, I haven’t forgotten about all the book reviews I should be doing.

Actually it’s not that I haven’t been blogging. I did type out a few entries during commute time (whole entries) even, before deciding that I didn’t want to upload them and then proceed to wipe everything out. ?

So work has been amazing so far (uhh is there such work?), well, insofar as I am pretty happy still.

So all’s good.

Just the other day, I was the moderator for a session at a tech event ?. Great experience, happy to connect with startups again and do a little part to promote Korean technology and products.

Have always wanted to be a connecting point of some sorts between Korea and SG, liaising with parties on both sides. So I kind of have my dream job now.

I’m getting so immersed in Korean and the language has become a default mode. For a period of time, I used MS office in Korean ?.

But the strange thing is that my confidence in speaking in Korean has taken a hit instead of becoming better. I think it’s because I’m surrounded by such competent bilinguals everyday that I feel like I’m lacking instead. The more I try to be conscious of my words and pronunciation, the worse it gets and haha vicious cycle.

Need to break out of it!

But yeah, I’ve become a faster reader in Korean. (:

Outside of work, I’m obsessed with 穿越 novels (lol) and hence I’m reading a lot in Chinese. Usually I try to avoid reading in Korean outside of work because… too much ah. Hahaha.

But in the end, what suffered is my Japanese. Katakana? Uhhhh.

I cannot lose whatever Japanese proficiency I have. Need to do something about it. 😡

Language learning is not easy. The number of hours I spent on Japanese, while not as crazy as the time I spent on Korean (8 years of my life, being in touch with it almost everyday), is still significant. It would be such a pity if I end up forgetting most of it.

Need to find that spark again. The interest and motivation to learn.

I really need to make better use of my after-work hours.

The 2 hours.

On a happier note, happy 8th anniversary to my love!

Ya my blog.

I love my blog.

Although I missed the actual anniversary ?.

Happy 8th Anniversary! Always enjoy reading your posts although I am a “silent reader” most of the time. Tell me about the 2 hours after work. I know exactly what you mean. There is so limited time to do all the things that you want to do. Sometimes you jus have to sacrifice one thing for the other.
