20 April, 2014 at 1:44 PMHi Shanna!
just want to say how great your blog is! i just came back from a (kind of solo) 2 week trip around south korea (with zero knowledge of the language) and although i enjoyed the trip tremendously, i think that knowing the language would make it even more amazing. i love the people, the culture, the scenery, the FOOD, weather, etc… So i decided to take up korean now that i’m back. ^^
im curious to know approximately how much time do you put in to learning the language before being conversational? eg: every day an hour or..? do you practice by yourself?
and also, it seems that you pick up languages real fast!! (congrats on your jap exam) im more science-y so my linguistic ability aint that good. haha
Anw i digress. your blog has been a great help and motivator! don’t stop blogging 🙂

22 April, 2014 at 12:01 PMHello!
Thanks for liking the blog 😀 Wow did you travel to many places this time? (: It’s great that the trip made you more interested in the language too. mmm it’s really hard to put a number to it, especially since I wasn’t conversational until the first time I went to Korea but I had a good grasp of reading/listening skills before that ^^;; Speaking was (or still is) one of my worst skills and the latest to develop.
I guess it’s really different for each individual. Just put in effort and you will get there eventually! (: I think I have a timeline of sorts on my self-intro page, you can check that out!

14 September, 2014 at 12:11 PMHi! I wanna say you blog motivates me to continue learning foreign languages. How long do you need to learn to be able to read all those articles in your “Korean Learning Log”? Say based on self-study and using textbooks like Integrated Korean. How long do you study per week on average? A rough gauge haha, to understand the progression. Can you answer the same for Japanese too xD Just wanna know lol

21 June, 2015 at 3:24 AMHello Shanna
I came across an old of your books reviews about a book meant for koreans. Could you please list down the books that you own or know that are meant for koreans or at least where I can find books meant for korean?
I want to learn more about the language, but I feel like I won’t get to know much If I keep using only books meant for foreigners.
