Dramas of 2010

Just finished an exam and I’m back home, eating lunch in front of the computer. During this time, I shall to surmise the k-dramas of 2010.

2010 is a relatively good year for dramas, with loads of good productions like that OB/G doctors, My girlfriend is a gumiho, Fugitive, SSK scandal, just to name a few. Personally, Fugitive is the most underrated drama of the year. With its strong case, slick action and a relatively good plot, I can’t believe that it didn’t get past the 20% mark. I wasn’t fan of Rain until I saw this, and I must say that his performance won me over. The fact that he did the actions scenes himself was a bonus. The story wasn’t really realistic (can you believe that they all look so good on the run?) but still, a relatively logical one. Jiwoo’s charisma is overflowing and he has a good rapport with co-star Lee Nayoung. Even the supporting cast was strong and I get a laugh everytime the head of police department shows up.

Mary stays out at night got off with a good start with a refreshing feel but somehow the momentum just drops 8 episodes later. I no longer care about the plot and I simply watch it for the cuteness between the lead couple. I hope the change in writer will add some much-needed life into the drama. You remember how Mary likes to count to 10 whenever she’s in a tough situation and then try to think on the bright side? Suddenly she stopped doing it. And I could see more potential for the double marriage than was shown up till now. :/

It’s hard to pick the best drama of the year though. I’m torn between Gumiho, Secret Garden and OB/G doctors. I’ll just say that Secret Garden is the drama that gets me wishing weekends will come rightaway (:

As for my all-time favourite drama, none will beat Couple Fantasy (2006). For some strange reason, I really loveeeee the story and especially the character of 나상실/조안나. Han Ye Seul played the character to perfection and I love her attitude. 😀

How was your drama year of 2010? ^^

I started watching Fugitive because of this post and so far I like it. I actually didn’t want to watch it at first because it had Rain in it, but he’s doing pretty well in this. Thanks for recommending it. I gonna take a look at Obstetrics and Gynecology Doctors next.

glad you liked Fugitive! ^^ OB/GD is awesome, in a different way. Some medical shows place more importance on all the politics/power struggle that go behind the scenes, but in this drama, it’s really more about the medical practice and the importance of life.

I started the year with 아직도 결혼하고 싶은 여자. Then.. uhm.. nothing? Since this is the year I went back to uni, I don’t have much time. I did try to watch some old dramas (but haven’t finished them). Re-watched Kim Sam Soon and City Hall a few times, I guess. And recently finished Secret Garden. It was not the best drama for me, but it’s interesting enough for me to finish it despite school works and Korean lessons that are piling up. ^^ I wish I can watch more dramas this year.
