SelfStudyKorean.com – revival or closure?

Helloooooooo! I haven’t been able to blog at SSK these days (especially when I was in Korea) cos there’s simply no way I could manage 2 sites (and all sorts of other social media) while doing an internship. Now that I’m back, I want to try to revive the site.

Check out the newest post where I talked about fruits in Korea! lol

But as everyone know, it’s a community thing. So I can’t be the only one updating. O.o If you guys wanna help out and contribute and make it a fun site, let me know!

I know that some people have emailed me but if you didnt end up getting a reply, it was because I was flooded by other emails and I could have missed it ㅠㅠ Let me know again!!

I’ll give this project a year and I’ll see if I have to close it or not D: Hopefully I won’t have to do that. But managing 2 sites, 1 Japanese blog, 1 Korean blog, Twitter, Facebook page, Tumblr, and what not is proving to be impossible while being a full time student. D:

That being said, thanks for showing all the love for Hangukdrama and SSK till now!! 😀

I wish I can blog as a full time job. SIGH.

Why not use whatever Korean study content posted here on Self Study Korean? To tell the truth, I’ve never really gone on SSK. I really didn’t feel the need to. Whether its good or not, I just haven’t gone on it.

Hey Shanna! Wow, you had another website?! O.o lol… I never even knew lol. Well tbh, I’ve known about your blog since May and I have had nothing but good news to spread to friends n Korean language leaners alike (people I met on one of eatyourkimchi’s live webchats who followed me on twitter n asked me to send them sites I recommend to study Korean; they thought my Korean was ‘great’ and they only know TTMIK; more on this later :3) Your blog is LITERALLY the only blog I religiously read, putting aside blogs with Korean grammar info. and I must say since June when I subscribed to your blog(I’ve only ever subscribed to your blog :P) I’ve read and found ALL your posts interesting~ ^^ even though my main reason for really getting into your website was because of a few korean books you reviewed which I thought were so interesting. The books were so ‘unconventional’ but to me, would prove really useful! ^^ I soon hope to purchase them~ and I sincerely Thank-you! Also, because of some of your grammar posts, again; AWESOME. While studying Korean I aim to view the lang. from as many angles as possible to get this somewhat objective overview. I must say the info. on your blog has definitely assisted me greatly~ Anyways, I blabber :3 I was intending to put this all in a thank-you email when I arrived home (was out of town and may have to if you don’t see this comment :’C) but since I’ve only seen one comment on this post I decided to write this long epitsle :3… Anyway as your new found loyal fan, I’ll check out the website~ and I agree, I wouldn’t post info. from here in that website. I’m sure your creative mind will think of something o/ lastly, I wanted to let u know because more and more of my friends n random people online keep asking me about studying Korean, I was inspired by you and then spurred on by them, thinking to start my own blog ^^ But… I see your giving website #2 a 1yr. retry and I’d be happy to help out! ^^ note, I’ve never blogged before but, as I said, I want to. ^^ I have a lot to say and I’d love to give it a try. (It would be soooo coool me getting the chance to work alongside you!) o/ -end long speech here :3

      Hi Zari!

wow thanks for the comment! I’m reaaaally happy to hear that my blog is interesting enough. I’ll definitely try to do more textbook reviews and grammar posts. Just that I’m recently too into learning Japanese and Korean has kinda taken a backseat. 😛

Starting a blog is a great idea! Or if you want, you are definitely welcome to treat SSK as your own and blog there regularly! ^^ If you like the idea, feel free to email me at seoulareyou@gmail.com with your preferred username so that I can create an account for you there!

I’d reallllly appreciate that! xD I see you started back already with the 의성어과 의태어 post 🙂 and your letter to all self-learners 🙂 (Y) MUCH APPRECIATED.. you see~ RARELY.. if at all.. do you get this kind of (grammar) information in textbooks. ㅠ.ㅠ I like your way of thinking. 🙂 and LOL I noticed :P.. well the Japanese posts are entertaining too, since I’m studying it at school. Hmm, maybe I’ll start to take it even more seriously and be more enthusiastic about Japanese… we’ll see 😛
