[Photolog] 마장 축산물시장 Meat Market

[Raw meat / offals photos ahead]

Going to markets and random places that few tourists will go seem to be my favorite activity in Seoul.

Located within walking vicinity of Majang Station, the meat market is worth a visit. That is if you love meat, the uncooked version. Right in your face. I smartly chose the wrong day to go, and it wasn’t market day!!! (was a monday). A little disappointing, but still it was a nice walk through the empty market.

On the way there, we saw this. HAHA. So hilarious. Koreans seem to like to ‘cutify’ the stuff that they eat. I’ve seen chicken cartoon characters as mascots for fried chicken places, flying pigs for some pork restaurants, donald duck or a look alike for a 오리 duck restaurant and cute cows for 갈비 places.

Interesting to see pickup trucks with an assortment of wares. I wonder if anyone buys from them. And how he digs through his stuff in the first place.

I don’t think he can remember exactly what he’s selling…

I love seeing pretty flowers on the street.

In the market. It’s an open market, with many small alleys.

Read on to find out more! Some photos may make you uncomfortable, so if you don’t really want to see raw meat or offals, don’t read on.

Can you recognize this??

yummy… no?

..

..

Are you still here? 😀 Not too bad right?

No more raw photos ahead, I promise!

this street was awesommmeee. It’s basically a 족발 street, pig trotters street. OMG. The smell was really good. I was tempted to have lunch here but looking at how they deal with their ingredients…. better not. I have a pretty weak stomach. But it really smells good.

pretty boring photos. I’m sorry, I didn’t go on a right day! ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

heh if you are interested in more ahem photos, check out this blog!! If you don’t like seeing raw things, then forget about clicking it. I can’t wait to go back to the market next time!! On a market day.
