Pasarbella with the girls

Finally met up with the girls again and for the first time in a long while, we had a whole day to ourselves to chill, destress and simply enjoy the day.

Decided to go to Pasarbella @ Grandstand, which is apparently quite a hip place – A farmer’s market kinda place reminscent of those you find in Europe (not that I know how the real ones look like…)

I must be no longer hip cos I didn’t knew this place existed lol.

Located near Turf City in Bukit Timah, it’s just a place where you should cab in. We tried walking in from the nearest bus stop under the hot sun and looked really sad with cars whizzing past us. It’s not pedestrian-friendly :/

The place’s kinda cool but I guess we don’t really care about upscale grocery cos we barely looked at anything and zoomed straight for the food. My friend wanted to try the Paella and the Roast pork so we just plonked ourselves on the seats near those stalls…

There was this pretty cool place that sells Russian cakes.

Looks very pretty but I prefer my cakes to be plainer… and less sweet-looking.

Rows and rows of roast pork!! This was really good! ^^

Very crispy skin and tender meat. Worth trying!

Didn’t get the hype over the seafood Paella until I saw this huge … wok(?) of paella. So crazy. Sorry for the bad photo because my camera tended to focus on the steam and condensation on the glass partition.

I’m still on a no-seafood diet so I can’t tell whether it’s good or not. The rice was okay only and didn’t really wow me.

More food. I love scrambled eggs!

Didn’t try anything very memorable so I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. Anyone has must-eat recommendations there?

Went to try Omakase Burger because the plus one’s brother recommended it. We were really excited but it turned out to be a major disappointment.

The 4 of us shared one Omakase Cheeseburger and a serving of truffle fries. All I remember was it being REALLY salty. Everything was salty – salty fries, salty patty, salty cheese.

Looks deceive. The fries had so much salt that we had to ‘shake’ off the salt by tapping the fries against container before eating it lol. I had trouble swallowing my 1/4 of the burger. :/

The 4 of us had the same verdict – that we will not go back again.

Given that it’s supposedly famous and good, I don’t know if it was just the erm burger that day or what not… maybe you can let me know if you had awesome burgers there in the recent times!

Celebrated two birthdays that day and the girls gave me a really really nice present >>> A Diana F+ Instant

Although they tried to confuse me by giving me the batteries (I’ve never seen those types of batteries) first as a present o.O

I always secretly wanted to try lomography hehe. I don’t know why I’m so fascinated with cameras and photography when I suck so badly at it hahaha. ohwell. I can only improve right? ^^
