Paradise Ranch – quality over ratings

Sigh, another example of a drama being shunned to the side because of ‘low’ ratings. With Dream High, Queen of Reversals competing at the same time, it’s hard for Paradise Ranch to get the ratings it deserved. Personally, it gives a more refreshing feel than My Princess, which is veering dangerously towards the doesntmakesense kind of plot. It’s cute and fun but so far, it didn’t manage to capture my heart.

Paradise Ranch started out strong and I’m already loving the cute moments between Dong Joo and Da Ji. The reason for their divorce was deliberately kept in the dark, and this made me really really curious about what actually happened! Just into ep2, the relationship (triangle) is already established and I’m emotionally won over. I actually teared in ep 2! There’s a good mix of laugh-out-loud scenes and also the emotional ones.

Some people commented that Chang Min is a little stiff and awkward in front of the cam. Granted, he’s not the most polished actor but I find myself going along with the plot and not griping over his lack of acting ability. Which is a good thing.

Filmed in Jeju Island, the scenery is also different from the regular dramas and we see more nature. Ahn Suk Hwan is always good in dramas (Dong Joo’s dad) and I find myself liking Im Soo Hyang as Da Ji’s younger sister! Can’t wait to find out if our 2nd female lead is the typical jealous, plotting type or not! ^^

I’ve not watched this yet, have far too many other dramas to catch up on :P.

I have to confess, when I heard of this I wasn’t excited about it. After Yunho’s drama fiasco, I just wasn’t expecting much.

But now I’ll put this on my ever growing list of dramas to watch – when I have the time ^^

After Secret Garden, I just haven’t been following other dramas consistently, including Dream High and My Princess. I think I’m on Kdrama overload having watched one series after another for so many months. I need a break!

The last Jdramas I watched were both JaeJoong’s dramas XD Am excited over the talk that he might be in a Kdrama this year tho! They’re speculating that Jang Dong Gun and Ha Ji Won would be in it too. All just speculation though but that.would.be.awesome. Though it’s a little intimidating being in a drama with 2 heavy weights ! Seems unlikely to happen…

He was okay in the Jdrama. The Kdrama (or movie? Not sure what category it falls under) 천국의 우편 배달부 for me was okay. He’s not bad like Yunho though -_-…

I enjoyed the Jdrama Sunao ni Narenakute. Am not sure how non-fans would feel about him in dramas, but I think he’s passable. 🙂

Oh! Btw, there’s a korean ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ coming up. 😀

Sounds like it’ll be exactly the same as the Hollywood version but it’ll still be fun to watch me thinks!

    wtf!!!
this drama got a combo of actor & actress that sucks in acting.
lee yeon hee? son chang min? EWWW…
even the basic storyline of the drama is redundant.nothing is passable. One of the worst drama of the year.

come on, there are many other dramas which are better to watch.

This drama was ridiculous. The acting was horrific, the plot was predictable and repetitive, and the lead character is completely unfit for her role. The writers should really consider at least watching a subbed episode of “The Saddle Club” for the most basic of common horse knowledge before they try to make a drama revolving around the equestrian world, especially where medicine comes in. This drama is more irritating than anything, especially for equestrians and/or anyone involved in veterinary medicine.
