Sigh, another example of a drama being shunned to the side because of ‘low’ ratings. With Dream High, Queen of Reversals competing at the same time, it’s hard for Paradise Ranch to get the ratings it deserved. Personally, it gives a more refreshing feel than My Princess, which is veering dangerously towards the doesntmakesense kind of plot. It’s cute and fun but so far, it didn’t manage to capture my heart.
Paradise Ranch started out strong and I’m already loving the cute moments between Dong Joo and Da Ji. The reason for their divorce was deliberately kept in the dark, and this made me really really curious about what actually happened! Just into ep2, the relationship (triangle) is already established and I’m emotionally won over.
I actually teared in ep 2! There’s a good mix of laugh-out-loud scenes and also the emotional ones.
Some people commented that Chang Min is a little stiff and awkward in front of the cam. Granted, he’s not the most polished actor but I find myself going along with the plot and not griping over his lack of acting ability. Which is a good thing.
Filmed in Jeju Island, the scenery is also different from the regular dramas and we see more nature. Ahn Suk Hwan is always good in dramas (Dong Joo’s dad) and I find myself liking Im Soo Hyang as Da Ji’s younger sister! Can’t wait to find out if our 2nd female lead is the typical jealous, plotting type or not! ^^
