Talk about Osaka and one of the first things that come to mind is probably the Universal Studios located in the Bay Area. Unfortunately I have a fear of roller coasters and theme parks in general and the bff decided to be nice and spare me the torture.
If you are not a theme park person, there are also a lot of interesting things to do in the Bay Area: Tempozan Ferris Wheel, Osaka Aquarium and the Santa Maria cruise!
I totally had the -_____- expression on my face when I saw this gigantic structure. wtf. We bought the two day Osaka pass (which is a must buy!) which includes coupons that allow free entrance to many attractions so we were trying to use as many as possible. I spent 10 mins hovering around the ferris wheel entrance and …..
The bff went up alone and here’s a photo taken from the top. Sorry if the photos are so dark, it was raining the whole day.
I had a lot of misgivings about the Santa Maria cruise because I am mortally afraid of water (yes, I survive best on flat concrete land) and I wondered if I will get seasick. hehe but in the end we went for it and it was one of the most fun things I did in Osaka xD The cruise is a 45 mins tour around the Bay Area and you can choose to be in the 2 indoor lounges, the basement (?) or the few observation decks.
Since it was raining, it was rather wet and the winds were mad strong.
I spent half the time clutching at something and inching my way forward (ya im useless) while the bff was just super happy and exploring the whole ship. She found her place at the edge of the top-most observation deck, which I refuse to step into because it was like a slope.
It was a good tour though! If you are in Osaka, GO FOR THIS!!!
