Nothing like a healthy dose of fangirling

빠순이 is a slang meaning ‘crazy for …’. It’s a little hard to explain but if you are an ardent big bang fan, you will be called a 빅뱅 빠순이. Usually it’s used when you are totally into someone (usually an idol), but my friends have called me 홍대 빠순이 when I seem to hang out in that area a little too often ^^;;

One reason I really loved that video is that many people view fangirling as something bad. Which I beg to differ. Of course nothing is good in extreme amounts. It’s good to be clean but if you are a total clean freak you will be termed as having OCD. Same reasoning. I don’t encourage spending thousands and thousands of dollars on idols or stalking them like a 사생 fan. But I don’t like it when people roll their eyes or condemn fangirling as something stupid.

Fangirling has made me closer to my friends, allow me to know people from all over the world. It’s a form of passion and it was because of fangirling that I’m motivated to study Korean and now Japanese. I can’t imagine studying Korean without all my dramas, variety shows, kpop, k-indie, k films etc. Imagine just studying from textbooks, with all the dry dialogues D:

Fangirling is awesome okay. ^^

Did I talk about my biases in the k-world? I’m actually moving more towards k-films, k-indie and the oldies these days, but still.. (:
