Inverted commas because I’ve been soo busy with a certain 3 letter word (or more like I have a lot of work but I refuse to do it) that I don’t really have time to spare for languages. But sometimes (like now), I’m taking an escapade from reality and when I do, I study Japanese. sorry Korean The reason why I spend more time on Japanese is because it’s my much weaker language and I need more ‘formal’ time for it.
I have been slotting Korean study on the go or before I go to bed. Or before class, during class, and in between breaks. I usually read up Korean news on the apps (introducing them soon), watch unsubbed clips such as news etc. I avoid subbed stuff now. Cannot be too lazy and reliant on them.
In some sense, I’m more aware of news ongoing in Korea compared to Singapore. ><;; Good or bad, I guess it depends on how you view it? I’m stubborn like that. I stubbornly want to do what I like to do.
I realized that I can easily watched unsubbed movies these days. 😀 I am no longer aware that I’m actually watching it unsubbed, which I consider a good thing. And I don’t need to concentrate to be able to understand ^^ yay.
I’m greedy. I hope to be fluent 3 years later for Japanese 😀 And then I’ll start on a non Asian language.. probably Russian. I know it’s very simplistic, but if I manage to learn a new language every 4 years.. how many languages can I learn to speak in this lifetime? hahahaha.
Languages on my list: Russian, Spanish
Okay, I’ll be super content if I can be fluent in two foreign languages actually lol. Time to work harder for Japanese 😛 Do you think I’ll be fluent one day? hahahahaha

24 September, 2012 at 9:14 AMThai is actually a very beautiful tonal language and i think it’s worth the while spending the time understanding the rich culture behind the language and the country itself, just like Japanese or Korean or any other language. Maybe the sounds of the language at first will put you off, but after you learn the meaning of words and sentences, you will realize that it’s actually a very gentle and warm language compared to others. Sadly, most people i know just dismiss the language before anything else or just make fun of it.haha.it’s like hearing people say,” Learn Korean? no way..people will think i’m a Kpop fan..”

25 September, 2012 at 3:30 AMI think there are no similarities at all 😀 Definitely not in the grammar structures, and as for the vocabulary, sometimes 아랐어 awfully reminds me хорошо, and they even can be used in similar contexts. But as far as I know these words are not related))
To tell the truth, the most popular languages in Russia are English and Chinese and I don’t really know many people learning Korean, at least in my city. So you’re lucky finding them:)
