7 In Japanese learning journey (:/ Korean learning journey (:

My language learning journeys

yay now that I’ve sorta decided that Japanese is here to stay in my life, I’ll be recording both language learning journeys. 😀

For now, it seems like Japanese dominant posts will follow, since I’m spending more time on it.. but you never know. I’ll be writing about both 😀

I think there generally needs to be more awareness for… language bloggers. So random. But I’ve always been categorized into the wrong type of blogger. Lifestyle blogger, kpop blogger, kdrama blogger. o.O The latter perhaps due to my misnamed blog. Sorry to say that, but Singaporeans seem to automatically think of ‘lifestyle’ blogs when people talk about having blogs. .______.

Learning the Japanese grammar structures one by one is soooooo fun!!!! I think one thing I missed much from learning Korean is learning the grammar. I’m almost done with all the grammar points, except those really not used ones found only in TOPIK, so no new fun. #languagegeek

And who invented kpop reaction videos? o.o I see so many around nowadays. I haven’t watch one yet before.

And truthfully I’m getting a little sick of the gangnam style fad. ><

Because of Amber, I’ve become a new fan of WEAVER hahaha

Arashi is still my favorite. Probably cos there’s so few Japanese bands / Jpop that I know. Need to discover something of my taste. The easiest answer will be BIG BANG Japanese lol.

Mmm actually scratch Arashi, I love DBSK’s Japanese stuff! ^^

Yes, WEAVER has good songs! I caught them live earlier this year when they came and performed with Applicat Spectra, which is another band under their label A-Sketch.

In fact, as you probably already know, they are coming back to Singapore again this Saturday this coming Saturday at *Scape. The concert also features flumpool (which is another great band under the same management you should check out if you haven’t!). I’ll be going! How about you and your friend? 🙂

Personally I think I will always love Japanese music more than Korean music, just because of my background with the language and its culture. 🙂 Although there is so much amazing Korean music out there beyond all that manufactured pop.

haha my friend will probably be going xD but I have to spend my time with.. FYP -.- I’m still very unfamiliar with Japanese music. So far I’ve heard a few that I like, but not to the extent that I’ll put it on continuous repeat (like BIG BANG).

I second flumpool (“花になれ”=GREAT song)! I’m kinda in love with their lead singer Yamamura Ryuta hehe. I like Galileo Galilei (try “Marble”) and Stereopony (I recommend “友達の恋人”) a lot too! SoulJa is a great rapper (I like “ここにいるよ” ft. Aoyama Thelma, great song). I don’t know much about current J-pop? Haha. I used to be obsessed with KAT-TUN in high school though. XD Kame <3

I love Galileo Galilei! My favorite song is 星を落とす from their Portal album. 🙂 Actually LUNA SEA and ONE OK ROCK are my favorite rock bands but their sound is a little more hardcore.

Speaking of Johnny’s, I was into NEWS for a bit at the same time I was into Japanese rock (lol weird I know) back around 2006.

just listened to flumpool! 😀 😀 They’re awesome! Having gotten so used to the sounds and autotune of kpop, jpop (so far) seems refreshingly light.

Well keep looking with lastfm and yt because they have a lot of good music in Japan. It’s the number 2 music market so there’s definitely lots. I personally am not into jpop but even there’s still lots of music to explore outside that genre. Do you also like the Arashi shows. I used to love watching Arashi no shukudai kun and himitsu no Arashi ( the one where the guests give their impressions of the members) . I find Arashi ni shiyagare boring tho
