Learning Korean (English) with KORUS

Came across another interesting Korean learning resource! It’s been a long time since I found anything, school is sapping up my energies.

I love language resources that go both ways, meaning that it serves 2 groups at the same time. KORUS (which is the embassy of Korea in US) website has a long list of English lessons which target the Koreans living in the US. Unknowingly, this has create a wonderful resource for us Korean learners!

The lessons are split into two groups:

  1. 시사 영어 리스트 (current affairs English list)
  2. 생활 영어 리스트 (everyday English list)

and it covers a wide array of topics for each group. Go under the cut for more!

Once you click the link, you’ll see a list of lessons.

Click on any of them and you will be brought to a page like this. If you are already proficient, you can use it as a practice reading passage. Alternatively, click PRINT to see the English version too.2

Isn’t this superb? ^^ I’ve been looking for such ‘two-way’ resources for soo long! For those who need some help in understanding the Korean passage, this is perfect! Alternatively, you can use it to practice your translation skills for the more advanced learners~!

If you scroll down to the bottom, you will see a vocabulary list with sample sentences too 😀

One thing I really liked about this is the wide array of topics it covers. Most of the passages in the textbooks deal with the more mundane and common topics. But here, you get really interesting content. Not only do you get to learn Korean, you gain more knowledge too (:
