woahhh so happy right now 😀
Seriously, when you try to gauge the progress for language learning, you should see it in a more long term way instead of a day-by-day basis.
And sometimes you will just be surprised at how much you improved.
I think my business Korean listening skills have improved! It’s almost as easy as listening to the same convo in English 😀 😀 (in this particular case at least) Didn’t realize it until the convo ended. And I was like.. OHWOW did I just listened to everything and understood it perfectly? 😀
So interesting. I wondered how it improved. During my internship in summer, I still had to put in some concentration and sometimes I would just give a blank look or pretend that I understood. I could understand most stuff, but sometimes, I was like processing #*$@)(*)#(*$)@*#. oops XD
Now it’s like I can just relax and listen to all the Korean, as if it is a (almost) native tongue to me! omggg 😀
I really dunno how come my listening skills improved. o.O I did nothing special since I came back. And I dun even get to hear much Korean, much less in business context, at all -__-
In any case, happy (:
But my speaking skills in a business context is like… to put in nicer terms.. woefully inadequate.
D:
Need to work harder.
Much harder.

3 January, 2013 at 6:42 PMYour posts are always so motivational ^^ I hope I can achieve the same level of Korean as you one day.
One question though: how do you understand? I can only understand very basic sentences and I translate all the rest. I just don’t get it.

4 January, 2013 at 8:18 AMTotally agree with you! Overanalysing your daily or weekly progress can be depressing. Seeing long term improvement is much more motivational. ^^

5 January, 2013 at 2:09 AMThat’s great! I feel like I definitely don’t have much “business” vocab yet, so I’d be lost in a business convo. Are you in a situation right now where you’re working in business Korean?
