5급 합격했다!! ^^
It’s 9.08am on my computer clock now and I’ve just checked my KLPT (Korean Language Proficiency Test) results online! I can’t stop grinning 😀 It’s been one year since the last KLPT test and I’m really glad that I’ve improved ^^ Time really flies~~ Click HERE for my KLPT 2008 post.
LEVEL 5!!! ^^ Last year, I obtained a level 2. And now I hit level 5!! 😀
Here’s a short background on the KLPT test. For those who are interested, visit their official site (english version) here. Unlike TOPIK, KLPT does not have an essay component and hence it is said to be easier. However, I feel that the reading passages in KLPT are longer and more challenging. So I guess it sort of balance out?
Each question is worth 5 marks and there are 100 questions together.
- Listening: 40 questions (200 marks)
- Reading: 60 questions (300 marks)
The reading component consists of questions on grammar, vocabulary, proverbs and of course, the reading passages.
A breakdown of my score:
- Listening: 35/40
- Reading: 48/60
According to the official site, I can now…
really?? HMMM. Like I said in the previous post, the ‘real test’ for me will come the day when I finally go to Korea~~
For those who took the KLPT test this time, hope you guys got the results you wanted!! ^^

Actually I didn’t know that KLPT is only recognised in Korea. >< I just wanted to gauge my proficiency level, so I took both TOPIK and KLPT
anw going to Korea is definitely in my plans, but probably not anytime soon ): 내년에 교환학생으로 가고 싶어용~~ ㅋㅋ

29 November, 2009 at 10:54 AMㅎㅎ존댓말까지 했네요. 저도 이제 존댓말 할까요?
Feels so weird if i use honorific form when i speaks to ppl from the same region. keke.
Anyway, nice to meet you too.
And yes KLPT is used for foreigners to enter local Uni here but is useless overseas..TOPIK is recognized worldwide..actually KLPT has higher level of difficulties thats why i think you did fairly well with your result.
I think if i were to take KLPT again best i can only reach level 4..
Wow. if you are learning the language is best to come and experience it yourself..ㅋㅋ
There’s alot of festival here..really should come (:

1 December, 2009 at 7:49 AMhaha! actually i’m not very sure of when i should use 존댓말 or 반말 ㅋㅋ As I’m self studying, I feel that I do not know much about the Korean culture. ><
ooh now I finally know the difference between TOPIK and KLPT 😀 ~~
Is TOPIK Level 5 enough for taking classes in Korean? « Hangukdrama and Korean
30 March, 2012 at 5:51 PM[…] I would think TOPIK is a more robust criteria compared to KLPT. I have already obtained a score of 415 in 2009 and I was NOWHERE near being able to comprehend normal Korean conversation, let alone attend a […]
