JLPT…. APPLIED

Well… kind of.

I don’t know what got into me. I ACTUALLY APPLIED!!!

hahaha I know I have been talking about wanting to take the exam this year, but I didn’t even go find out when the application dates are. >.< It’s totally out of a whim that I decided to go google it just now and seriously, I think my fingers are faster than my brain. haha before I really processed what I was doing, I sent the application -___-

Ohwell, so 65 dollars is on the line right now. hahahaha motivation to pass N3 so that I don’t waste my money.

I have zero idea what I just signed up for, I don’t even know how the test is structured, how long it is, where it will be held at pffft.

And I said “kind of” because I haven’t send in the photos for the application yet 😛 And I haven’t get confirmation yet.

But it feels good to challenge myself again! Reminds me of the time when I signed up for TOPIK intermediate in 2009. I was not at that standard yet (1 year plus into studying Korean) but still wanted to challenge myself! So glad I did it though. Having some kind of goal fuels my inner competitive self to strive even harder.

watching this video now and really enjoying it!!! Realized that I could understand quite a fair bit without checking anything. Watching it again more carefully and pausing the video to check new words and expressions (and oogle at him LOL).

I feel very happy studying Japanese these days ❤

    Ps when are you going to stop using textbooks for Japanese. I watch and learn from japanese talk variety shows and books and music and dramas and im faring very welll. Imdef Way past jlpt 1. U alredy got English and mandarin and korean down somewhat. So kanji isn’t that big of a barrier of mandarin and neither is kango bc of korean. Also the experience of learning languages that you’ve accumulated. I really think u should just do japanese media that u enjoy full throttle and just forget Abt textbooks. not just bc it’s more fun. I really think it’ll be more effective. Considering all the advantages for learning japanese and experience u have with learnig languages in general. i really dont get why youre using textbooks. Uve experienced times where seeing it in native media was way more effective and remembersble than textooks right?? blood Monday has j subs for both seasons. Did u watch streaming or with j subs or c subs etc etc??

    I personally hav way too many shows to watch in japanese as well as books and words to look up from those books that I can’t imagine using a textbook . I just hav way too much good media to feed me

      haha I was watching with eng subs ^^ I’m not entirely relying on textbooks, I do learn a lot from media / articles etc. Actually most books I have now are grammar dictionaries / guidebooks. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I prefer learning grammar via books (: I’m pretty much the academic type, so I really like books haha. I love to see how they explain grammar points linguistically too, so I can’t imagine learning without books at all.

        for me I learned japanese grammar on the free lol. I did tae kim (really good and really free but it’s not everything but it’s definitely good enough to learn this and then venture out to real japanaese media intended for consumption by japanese people) and then i just learned the other gramar from books and tv shows and websites etc by googling or yahoo dictionary or chiebukuro. after all, stuff is easy to find on the internet. the only money i’ve spent on japanese is like cds and books and dvds I believe. and even that was on the cheap lol because a book-off is near me.

    頑張てください〜!^^
    I’ve been planning to take level 2 for the past couple of years. I still haven’t learnt more than 300 kanji. -.-;;
    Due to my lack of exposure to these characters, I’m unable to remember them.
