Since I’m starting to pick up Japanese, I thought it will be a good idea to create a new page for the sites/books that I’m using. Note that some/most of the resources are written in Korean, since I’m using Korean to study Japanese most of the time ^^ Links to further details/reviews will be posted (coming soon!)

Japanese Language Books
I tend to use books written in Korean or Chinese. Korean books are good in that Korean is very similar to Japanese and thus these books usually offer more explanation on common mistakes that Koreans usually make while learning Japanese. It also gives a clearer comparison between Korean and Japanese and I find that very helpful. I feel that Chinese has a much wider/better range of resource books compared to English when it comes to learning Asian languages like Japanese or Korean. They are cheaper too ^^

5 June, 2014 at 5:33 AMHi there.
I just found your blog today and I’m glad I did. These links are gold. I have a question. Do you know if there is a chance to buy online Japanese 1st grade reading books? I’ve been trying to find those but I haven’t been able to find them. Maybe you can help me. Thank you in advanced and awesome job. 😉

15 June, 2014 at 5:27 AMA good start is maybe “Level Betsu Nihongo Tadoku Library Nihongo Yomuyomu Bunko Level 0 Vol.1” if your are a true beginner (you can buy it via amazon jp or cdjapan jp). Just search “japanese graded readers” for some reviews or so and you will find these japanese graded reader series (there are 12 books in total and 5 levels I think, with level 0 for the basic users more or less). I read one of them and the content is okay, not too dull and each book contains several stories (the length of the stories vary according to the level of the book). Because it is a series you can build on to the next book, so maybe you can give it a try 🙂

21 September, 2014 at 12:14 AMHey! I’m one of your silent readers ㅋㅋㅋ I may have found out about your blog 2 years ago, and since I’m studying both Korean and Japanese, you seemed like a good person to follow. Turns out I was right ^^ I actually studied abroad for a year in Japan, and while I was there I found this site: http://yomou.syosetu.com/ If anyone is looking for a place to read free Japanese novels (I don’t think any of them are by big named authors, though I’m not sure) you can read novels for free! ^_^
