[Photolog] Gwangjang Market 광장 시장

If you are in Seoul for the first time and on a short trip, most likely you would want to see the tourist attractions. However, if you are there for a long time or simply want to see something different, visit Gwangjang Market – one of the traditional markets in Seoul.

It sells a wide variety of products, such as cloth, bedding, handicraft etc but what attracted me most was its street food section. I was there too early in the morning to want to eat anything, but the smells in the market is enough to make me hungry. Food stalls are situated in the center while shops on the sides sell a wide variety of products. Walking in the market is like a feast on the eyes and nose. There’s so much to see, and well.. smell.

The mountain of shoes. Finding a matching pair of the right size seems like a challenge.

I was so tempted by this!!! Ajumma frying pancakes on the spot. Seriously looks good. And look at that tub of pancake mix!! She keep gesturing us over and telling us it’s 맛있다.

A typical street food stall in the market. look at all the food

Patrons sit right in front of the stall like a counter seat and watch their orders being prepared in front of them. Most stalls sell the same variety of food. Look at that huge plate of kimchi mandus!!

So many cute hanboks!

A random photo but I really like the high ceilings of the market. And for some strange reason, I feel absolutely happy and blissful to be standing there ^^

Not as well kept and exciting as the stretch near gwanghwamun, but still lovely for a walk. Cheongyecheon stream.

Walked to the neighboring markets. I love to wander around aimlessly in Seoul, just going wherever my feet brings me. There’s just so much to see and I’m seriously very very very happy just to be walking around. Just being there makes me 😀 😀 😀

Seoul has a lot more to offer besides the shopping districts and end high areas. Take a walk along one of these traditional markets and enjoy 😀
