Gmarket-ed again! 😀 It’s been such a looooong while since I bought anything, and I must first point out that not everything is for myself. I repeat: NOT.
Although I admit that I went a little crazy with the books, since my bookshelf looks so empty right now.
As usual, fast and efficient service. Ordered it on the 11th and the package just arrived (on the 17th)! This post will be published tomorrow.
OMG haven’t seen this box for ages!!! ><
Opening it~~~!!! I love how everything is packaged nicely. And seriously I don’t know if it’s a norm or wad (I don’t shop online), but I love how the books come in a padded package!! ^^ I love my books in pristine condition!
Wallet~~ 😀
The haul 😀 hehe the shoes are pretty nice! I needed something because I only have slippers and heels. -.-
The sister/plus one asked me to get a Korean book for her level too, so I picked two books from Naver book’s recommendations (one for her and one for me) HEHE I chose something in the 초등 5/6 학년 section. Apparently this book is really famous. I’m a bit tired now so I’m too lazy to translate what the book is about. Read about it HERE.
Is it my brain very tired or is this book difficult? I give it a high intermediate level – advanced. But potentially good.
p.s. If anyone is looking for their first Korean book, please buy Big Bang’s 세상에 너를 소리쳐! Fangirling and biases aside, this book is really very readable and suitable as a first book. And yes, fangirling. ^^
It’s supposedly a very touching and award-winning book about a mum’s love and sacrifice for her kids. Ohno, seriously I’m so sleepy at the moment I’m making everything sound boring -.-
Anyway this book is much more reader friendly and easier. Suitable for intermediate level and as a first book (after you buy big bang’s autobiography, that is XD)
Bought this for no reason other than I loveeeee the movie, love the story and super looking forward to the drama version. I wonder how the book is going to differ from both 😀 It’s a crapload of words and it’s gonna take me like months to finish reading…. one book. OTL For the … Koreans. One needs a challenge now and then. *fist pump*
AWESOMEEEEEEEEEE!!! I haven’t taken a close look but it looks more difficult than the Yonsei level 6 o.O I don’t know so many things over there!!! 😀 😀 😀 why am i so happy that my korean is very lacking? hehe at least it’money well spent!
All in all, I’m happy about this haul!! 😀
p.s. To find these items on gmarket, simply input the korean title into the search bar and you will see a whole list of sellers. Which exact one doesn’t really matter! ^^ But I have updated the post with links!

18 October, 2012 at 8:43 PMOhhhhh! I shop at Gmarket too and the items always come in big boxes especially if you buy albums with posters. Where did you get the Ehwa books and the novels? Can you give me the link to the seller’s minishop? Thanks. ^^

18 October, 2012 at 9:44 PMwhich exact seller actually doesn’t matter. Just input the Korean names in the search bar and you will see a whole list. all the sellers are about the same actually, not much price difference. I usually pick one of the top few. It’s hard for me to give you the links because for Ewha, each level is a different erm entry on gmarket ^^

18 October, 2012 at 9:00 PMWow thats a big haul ^^ keke.
Yes! Do link us the link, because when i click “books” on gmarket website, its always the “normal” ones like guidebooks and stuff, i cant seem to find awesome ones like those you bought.

18 October, 2012 at 9:46 PMactually you just have to input all the titles into search bar to find a whole list of sellers! heh i don’t search it that way, just have to input the korean book name into the search bar! I decide what to buy beforehand, using other sites. In the case of 전우치, it was just a random search and a random buy.
p.s. I’M FREAKING LOVIN IT THOUGH 😀 reading it now actually

18 October, 2012 at 9:37 PMI think we have alot in common e.g. background (Singaporean Chinese), interest in languages (I’m also studying Korean & Japanese), spent (spending, in my case) some time in Yonsei, have an affinity with Korean (people have told me I have a talent for languages but after multiple attempts I’m still stuck at “Bonjour comment allez-vous” – I know better.)
BUT. This is where the similarities end. I self-studied Korean all the way without textbooks, and I find them extremely dry and draining. Today during class I kept staring at my workbook psycho-ing myself inwardly, “Look at this through Shanna’s eyes… look at this through Shanna’s eyes…” But fail lah, fail.
After the exhausting lesson ended I turned to my Japanese gyopo friend next to me and had the following conversation:
Me: 싱가포르에 아는 친구가 있는데… 얘 취미는… 한국어 교과서를 사서 리뷰하는 것인데…
Friend: …??? (Lifted up her textbook quizzically as if to say “교과서 as in textbook? Or does the Korean word have some other meaning like some fantastically exciting thing which I do not know of?”
Me: 맞아. 취미. 교과서. 좀… 특이하지.
hahaha.
P.S Do you know you can play 쿵쿵다 online? Muahahaha. Practice time. Muahahaha. 넌.죽.었.어.

18 October, 2012 at 9:53 PMHAHAHA omg I died laughing reading this. XD Yeah, I’m terrible with Romance languages. Tried Spanish and i was like… hola? *silent*
And look through my eyes also no use, I prefer textbooks to workbooks! 😛 which level are you doing there right now? Did you tell me before? ><;; omg share the link!!! 반.드.시. 이길 거에요!!! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

19 October, 2012 at 12:19 AMHave you gotten stuff from Gmarket whilst you were in Korea? Was thinking that might be cheaper for me when I get there… If I’m only getting a couple of books online, that is, lol.
