Day #11 – Day out with Jeannie

As I’ve mentioned in the previous post, I finally got to met Jeannie today! We met up in 혜화 and had a late lunch at 2pm. This is what I had! 😀 Everything was SO GOOD. And it cost 7,500won!

Jeannie taking photos!

Walked around but it was pouring so bad, we were forced to take shelter in a cafe~ Went to A Twosome Place which is a chain cafe in Korea and I had cake while Jeannie had a chocolate drink.

Went to a neoprint shop nearby and this is the first time I took sticker photos in Korea!! It’s cheaper (6000won) and if you want the person to help you cut the photos, you have to drop a 100won coin into a box. The best part about such shops in Korea is that they have props that you can grab and use to take the photos. We grabbed headbands, hat and cool glasses!

We are 얼짱!! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I don’t like to put my face on my blog, but I’ll show you the photos!

Saw some really beautiful architecture!

The number of steps you climb!

Highlight of the day: Trip to 꼭두박물관 (Link here)

It’s a museum of the afterlife, very my type of thing! 😀 😀 It was SO AWESOME! Adults price at 6,000won.

The museum is split into 2 parts, a part on figurines (꼭두), which are guardians of the afterlife journey. The other part (my favorite), is about judgement and hell 😀 Apparently Koreans will go through 7 stages of judgement in their afterlife.

This is super interesting!! 😀 😀 It’s a chart showing the stages of judgement, the places you will go and the king of judgement you will meet!

Me and Jeannie tried our hand at vlogging and the videos are with her! 😀 We tried our best to introduce all the stages, can’t wait to see the videos!! I haven’t seen them too. She will be the one uploading the videos~~ will post the links here 😀

[Update!] The videos are being uploaded now~~~

Check out the rest of the videos on her youtube channel! Jeannie also wrote about the museum in a separate post!

Went to walk around 한양대학교 and ended of the day with 삼겹살~~!

Oh, here’s a video I took while transferring trains in Seoul subway!

My goodness, it looks like you two had so much fun! I wish I had money and time for traveling and meet-ups.

The stages of judgment chart is interesting. I’ve never heard of that kind of thing in Korean culture before. I guess I still have a lot to learn.

I never seen this museum, looks great, I have to take a look since I’m quiet interested about how Korean see the afterlife. I bookmarked the link of the official website.
As always, thanks for sharing your trip with us Shanna !

More info on the Ten Kings/冥府十王/명부시왕 (In Korean of course!). Note that 十 is pronounced here 시, not 십 (like in 十月, 시월).
