10 In Korean learning journey (:

As productive as a snail

No, that didnt make much sense but I think you get the idea.

The older I am, the less motivated I am. Dun get me wrong, Im a firm believer of lifelong learning but recently Im just so tired.

When I get home after work, all I wanna do is lie in bed. Sitting in front of the computer proves to be too much for me. So Im reduced to listening or watching stuff in bed on my iPad. I love technology.

Im addicted to Marriage, not dating. Lol. It totally wasnt on my to watch list but …. xD

I need romance 2013.
Can we love.
Can we get married.
Marriage, not dating.

Rofl. Says a lot about my tastes huh. :/

ㅋㅋㅋ

외롭다 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Im really hungry right now.

Hello. I love your blog and I read lot of your reviews of korean textbooks for beginners (also self-study stuff). And I want to (finally!) buy a korean textbook… I was thinking about Ewha Korean 1-1 and 1-2 (English version). Or would you recommend anything better? I did some “units” on Talk to me in Korean… but still I’m just a beginner… I would appreciate your help! 🙂 Thank you.

Usually when I don’t feel like doing something I just don’t. I don’t do it and I don’t even think about doing it, I don’t look at textbooks, I sort of take a break from it. For a week, a month or even couple of months. It’s a lot of time but after it passes I’m just so energized to study, in a “omg textbook i missed you so much let me read you for the next couple of hours and never let you go” kinda way ^///^
anyway, fighting! your love for languages will return. If not now then maybe by the time you are 60. It will return tho~

Hi. I really love ur blog as it gives a lot of inspiration to me to study korean. Can I have some advices frm u? First I learn korean by self-study but I only get familiar with Alphabets and some basic grammar. I learn frm TTMIK n other korean books. Im a big fan of KPop, K shows, K drama so some basic words r quite familiar with me yet only few. Im not sure my self study is in a correct way or not so I decided to join the Basic 1A in korean language centre. They use the Sogang Books. I have an aim to sit TOPIK n want to live in korea. After reading ur posts, I want to try back to my self-learning as u said lessons r quite expensive n slow. The class teacher said To sit TOPIK exam, its better when I reach to Intermediate level so dat I cn catch up. Is it true? Can u advise me if I self-study, how can I know dat I cn take the TOPIK exam aldy? I mean is when I take class n I reach to Intermediate lvl, I could try to sit for TOPIK (as they mention). But when I self-study, how could I know that I reach to which Level? Sorry if I make you confused. And Thank you for your time.

hi Irene, thanks for liking the blog! Self studying is fun, you should try. You can take TOPIK exam anytime you want. If you are aiming for the intermediate, the only way to check if you are ready is to do the numerous past year papers available on the TOPIK website. You can take the exam whenever you feel like you are ready. But it’s more important to enjoy learning and just not learn for the sake of passing the TOPIK (: TOPIK isn’t a good judge of your level / proficiency, it’s just one test.
