A whole bookcase…

School has started and I’m feeling busy already! I wonder if that’s a good sign or not ^^ Korean learning will have to take the backseat from now on, until I guess used to the dynamics of the new semester!
Readings, readings and more readings! (:

A very random topic, but what would you like to collect if you have loads and loads of money?

This may sound nerdish, but I want the whole collection of all the textbooks / books teaching Korean in the 3 languages I know: English, Chinese, Korean! 😀 😀
okay maybe not ALL, but definitely being able to buy whatever book catches my eye! Then I’ll be like some ‘expert’ on Korean textbooks, reviewing each of them and giving my recommendations hahahaha.

Sorry, I was daydreaming for a second ^^ But I really love Korean textbooks/resources and I have to keep restraining my buying habits since I’m already so broke.

Feel free to share your secret ambition or collection fetish! ^^

Too bad I’m no longer qualified to receive red packets. Otherwise I’ll use the money to buy more textbooks / books teaching Korean and Japanese in the 2 languages I know: English, Chinese.

I’ve been collecting manhwa versions of dramas – the kind where it’s actual screenshots from the drama.

I also collected novel versions of korean movies 😛

Non-book related but I buy/collect alot of korean skincare products which are not sold/not well known outside of korea – but they are fabulous! Korean skincare products are of really high quality and the ingredients are really top notch. ^^

I have a comic which is explains the differences between chinese, japanese and koreans. It’s really strange as it’s written by a korean but reading it, you would almost swear it was written by a foreigner the way the book talks about the shortcomings and ugly characteristics of koreans (like how they tend to go to extremes). But it’s really funny as well though it barely scratches the surface. But I like how they start from way back during olden days up to current times. It explains why the chinese have the mentality that they have, and the japanese and the koreans. Very interesting. If I can find the book (it’s somewhere in my room probably in one of my storage boxes) I’ll give you the title. Overall a fun and entertaining read.

i dunno how you can resist kyobo. i’m tempted to buy everything on the shelf. at least in singapore, i dont see so many books on the shelves, so the temptation to buy is reduced

    Yep it’s korea unmasked.

Currently am working my way through the mid-range skincare brands. A few that I’ve been obsessed with lately are Suiskin, It’s Skin, Skin79. Some products of It’s Skin and Skin79 are available via online shops in Sg specialising in japanese and korean skincare/makeup. Suiskin I think is not yet that well known here though I’ve seen some in a few..er..what do you call those…sprees!

I bought 영상만화 of 미남이시네요 and 내 여자친구는 구미호 – 3 books each. I probably will just read it once and put it up on the shelf. But I don’t know, I just like seeing my books all packed on the shelf even though I only really just read them once through.

And it annoys me to no end how hard it is to arrange books since some of them may be of different sizes and oh woe if one of a set that i have happens to be a special edition and completely sticks out like a sore thumb. Drives me mad! But I digress.

I have not watched 궁. Ever. Not even one episode. Nor have I watched Coffee Prince. But I would still buy the manhwa to collect. HAHAHAH

hahahaaha! wow your collection totally trumps mine! 😀 I understand what you mean about arranging books. I want to see them neatly organised on my bookshelf too. hahaha wont reading the manhwa make you wanna watch the dramas?! hehe

ooh I heard of Suiskin! mmm maybe I’ll try them the next time I go to Korea! 😀 😀 gmarket is wayy too addictive. but I think it’s worse if you put me right inside kyobo. my friends were totally amused at how high i was in the bookstore!

    Hello,

I just started Korean so I don’t own any novel yet, just textbooks. But once I get exposed enough to the language I will try a proverb book and some manhwa.

I have a question, Does anyone know who sings this song:

My listening skills aren’t very developed yet but if anyone could give me a few Hangul lyrics to this song then I will try to find the singer and song title.

    Thank you

    Thank you very very much.

Like 구미오 said in the drama: “너무 나무 너무 좋아해”

By the way! I recommend 엄마를 부탁해 by 엄마를 – 신경숙
I bought it after reading a couple of reviews and even though I’m barely halfway through, it’s really good.
