1st meetup!

21 November, 2010

Had the pleasure of meeting 3 Singaporean friends that I’ve known through this blog today! 😀 We went for an awesome Korean dinner and chatted alot. Most of you learning Korean would have known about Hyunwoo oppa, his TTMIK site and also Language Cast! Language cast is a weekly meetup for those who are interested in learning languages and during each session, everyone is encouraged to come up to the front to give a short talk, in the language that you are learning. I had the chance of attending one of the meetup sessions and it was real fun! Meeting people who have the same passion for languages~ ^^

We talked about how we should organise more meetups and later on, we talked about turning it into a language exchange kind of meetup. ^^ Helping Koreans with their English/adapting life to Singapore and at the same time, practice our Korean 😀 I guess that will be fun (: But sometimes I feel that small meetups are the best. You get to know everyone in the group and usually we will have the same interests, goals etc. When meetups get bigger, it’s hard to keep track and the kind of passion is kinda diluted. >,<

    1. Oh wow, the food looks really good! And the meetup idea is great. I think there is such a group in Singapore, but the groups are usually pretty large. They are called All That Korean. Not sure if you’ve heard of them. 🙂
