Compared to places like 명동, 동대문, 남대문 etc, 안국 (Anguk) is not a familiar name to foreigners, nor is it a place marked in tour itineraries. However, it is the concentration of culture heritage of Korea and it is home to the 창덕궁 (changdeokgung), along with unique museums and cafes.
Personally, it’s one of my favourite areas in Seoul. Most people are familiar with Gyeongbokgung, but my teacher told me that 창덕궁 is actually more magnificent. I happen to find out that there is a Seoul Education Museum (서울교육사료관) and hence I made the trip there!
The museum depicts the changes in education systems in Korea and shows how education has evolved over the years, from the Chosun dynasty etc to the modern times ^^

Anguk Station (Line 3) – Exit 1 (10 min walk away)
Besides that, I went to the Jewelry Museum, Museum for the blind. There are loads more museums there, and one day, I’ll like to visit all of them ^^

i’m really impressed by your korean lang ability. I studied till level 4 in seoul at SKKU성균관대 and stayed in korea for 1 year but still can’t speak it like you. you inspired me to work harder on my korean language skill. perhaps i never had the same passion as learning japanese when i was a university student..that’s why my korean ability is far behind my japanese…i used to recite those jap lyrics though i didn’t know the meaning of it..
I replied in this post becoz I lived near SKKU성균관대 (창경궁) and I always go to 안국(20 min walk from my dorm), and take No.2 mini bus from the back gate of school. 안국&창덕궁 is my fav place and i’m glad that you like it too~i’ve made a borrow card from the library next to the edu museum.

wow i didn’t know SKKU is so near to 안국! it must be nice, to see all the nice buildings everyday ^^ I went to the library beside the edu museum too! I didn’t have the time to explore the place, but it looks really nice, although abit old.
how many languages do you know? I’m guessing at least 4? That’s really cool! 😀
