I first discovered Trot about a year ago and I fell in love with the genre immediately. I’ve blogged about it before but for some reasons, I soon forgot about it. After listening to GD&TOP and 2NE1 on repeat for the past weeks/months, I needed a change!
Found this song which I liked immensely! If you know of any good trot songs, let me know k! There are a few particular songs which dads/grandpas love to sing in dramas, but I can’t recall any of them. ):

I’m finally done with the Kyung Hee intermediate textbooks and now I’m doing the first chapter of the Advanced 1 book! 😀 It’s not very self-study friendly but it’ll suffice. I know all the textbooks/resources reviews are long overdue. I finally found a way to overcome the slow image upload of scribefire and reviews will be out soon. 😀
Looking for nice Korean talkshows/gagmen shows to watch. Any recommendations? I’m more interested in talkshows, not the kind that play games or those reality shows.

2 January, 2011 at 2:32 AM해피 투게더 (Happy Together) is probably my favorite talk show now. I was also a really big fan of 스타 골든벨 (Star Golden Bell), especially the episodes before they tried out the “SGB First Grade” format earlier this year which pretty much made the show suck until they returned to something more like their earlier format, but that show has sadly ended now (within the last month or so). (There are still years of previous episodes you could watch, though, just nothing brand new.)

2 January, 2011 at 11:59 PMI’ve watched a few episodes of 강심장 but it didn’t quite hold my interest nearly as well as some other shows, so I dropped it after about 5 episodes. Initially I thought this was due to try to watched it unsubbed (as that type of show is far more boring if you don’t know what is going on since the whole point of the show revolves around the stories they are telling), but even when I started over watching it English subbed, it still couldn’t quite hold my interest enough to keep watching it.
It does have some good points though. It is a great way to learn some background facts about celebrities that you wouldn’t likely pickup on other shows and the “붐”기가요 segments are usually quite entertaining.
