6 In Korean learning journey (:

My favorite phrase these days. I badly want to use it, but too bad I don’t get to speak Korean to anyone at all in my daily life. I’ll look so stupid going 진정 에씨… at myself so I have to resort to typing it on the blog.

Come talk to me so I can use more 진정s!!

There’s a huge, flying bug in the room and I have newspapers all rolled up besides me and I’m typing this on the phone while keeping an eye out for the evasive bug. I look half-crazed 진정.

진정 짜증나.

In case you wondered why I’m so infatuated with the phrase, please refer to 무정도시, also known as the most underrated drama this season. I need to rave about this drama properly. I promise I’ll get to it. That is if I can peel my eyes from the show. Or rather a certain person in the show. Actually I like everyone in there. really

Damnn… I really need to find the bug before I sleep. Or it will be another sleepless night.

You know, for the longest time I had no idea what you meant by 진정. I just kept thinking of ‘calm, quiet; genuine, authentic’.

Then I gave in and did some searching for 무정도시 before I came up with an answer. Haha, apparently, knowing Korean alone isn’t enough to understand the language, I have to know the dramas too!

hehe it’s just this particular speaking habit of one of the characters! He kinda substitute 정말/진짜 with this and I find it super endearing and cute hahaha. xD

I think the scriptwriter overused it though… trying way to hard to create a 유행어. Soo works a 진정 into LITERALLY every other sentence. Sometimes when he manages to finish a long sentence without 진정 I stand up and applaud. 듣다가 좀 질린다 싶다… 🙁

hahaha yeah i agree it’s overused! But I have too much love for the drama and character that I’m willing to overlook that 😛
