Okay, I have to admit that variety shows are damn awesome. I seldom watch them, which explains why my slang vocabulary is so weak. Variety shows use slangs like no others. I’m currently watching GD in infinity challenge (unsubbed) and dying of laughter over all those language / slang jokes. I’ve never really watched subbed variety shows but I really wonder how the translators will translate all these gems. Watching infinity challenge now because it’s GD.
Here’s a new slang I learnt from him lol. 행쇼~! 모두 행쇼~! It’s super funny when Yoo Jae Suk asked the rest of the team to guess what it means. It’s obviously an abbreviation of something and one of them (sorry I don’t know their names) said 행님 쇼하네 HAHAHAHAHA that really got to me. so hilarious. 행님 is actually the Busan dialect way of saying 형님. and 쇼하다 is a slang meaning like ‘having no real skills but still flaunting / act dunno what shit’. Okay don’t take my translation too literally ^^;;
And someone else rightly guessed that it’s an abbreviation of 행복하십쇼~ which itself is an abbreviation of 행복하십시오. Language is so awesome.
He later went on to introduce a new slang 사나샷 and said that in this case it should be 부나샷. Turns out to be 사장님/부장님 나이스 샷! Nice shot! lol
A little random but GD is so polite and good with people, he will really be well received everywhere. O.o
