5 In Korean learning journey (:

작은 행복

Reading comments like this really brings a smile to my face. I’ve been a little  lazy in updating the reviews for Korean resources, but I’ll be getting on it soon(:

As I’ve said in the previous post, I’m trying to shift away from entertainment news to other areas so as to gain a more balanced vocabulary and reading skills. The tone in entertainment news is lighter and the kind of grammar and structures found there are much simpler. So now I’m moving on to business related articles. Hence the marketing article in the previous post.

And as I’m writing this, I’m listening to Maybee’s Volume Up podcast too. <3

It’s frustrating how other commitments are taking up my time for Korean, but slow progress is still progress (:

I’m currently at Advanced 1 for the Integrated Korean series. Actually the funny part was that, I jumped to Advanced Intermediate II because AI I wasn’t in the library and for the same reason now, I decided to jump to Advanced 1. But I’m still coping well, so I guess it doesn’t make a difference?

haha I wonder how it will be like.. years later and I look through the archive of this blog. And think back on how I’ve learned Korean. ㅋㅋㅋI was looking at my first notebook for Korean and I realised that my handwriting changed alot! haha my handwriting looked like a 2 yr old kid then XD I think I’ve progressed to a teen handwriting.

Perhaps I will upload photos another time!

다음에 봐요~!

It’s me again! I tried to reply 3x yesterday but it seems like the message didn’t get through..

I’m current at E3 and I have to admit that it’s getting more challenging. I actually started picking up the language 6 (freaking long!) years ago but stopped for quite some time in between.

I agree that Chinese would be a better medium to learn Korean since lots of their vocab overlapped. (I’ve never been happier to be a Chinese! XD) The CNY holiday is going to be a long long one and I plan to head down to BBC for some treasure hunting and mug hard! =)

ahh~ somehow the comments got stated as spam but I’ve approved them ^^
wow 6 years ago! that was before the whole hallyu wave was it? It’s great that you are back at it again, don’t give up! ^^ The jump in difficulty may seem alittle daunting right now, but it will be alright once you get the hang of it.

i found some great books at BBC too! Do check out the shops there~!

ㅋㅋ are you more into k-drama or music or both? XD

Now I’ve really become a spammer! 4 almost-identical posts! ㅋㅋㅋ

That was when K-Dramas were beginning to air on Ch U on a more regular basis. 천국의 계단 was the ‘final straw’ for me and I went to Cambridge (it kinda sucks, btw… =x) to learn. ㅎㅎㅎ! Yes.. I am putting in more effort to do my homework, read up before classes and do some Google-ing. It’s challenging BUT fun. Never found studying to be so fun.

Any specific shops in BBC to recommend? I can only think of raking Union Bookstore…

I guess I’m more inclined to KPop. 배우보다 가수들 더 알았어요. I tend to be picky about the storyline when it comes to drama but I do follow quite a few. I’m following 공부의 신 now, and previously 미남이시네요 and 꽃보다 남자 (duh?! ㅋㅋㅋ). Will be following 파스타 after I’m done with 공. 드라마 많이 보고 싶어서, 아주 바쁠 거예요!

Please don’t laugh at my mistakes! We learn through them, don’t we? XD

Heys! I happened to be at BBC for work reasons and I took the chance to skive a little (=X) and went searching for books. Union is on level 3 in one of the many corners. I bought 2 books from there and kinda regret cos I found a bigger and more well stocked store at the other corner! It’s called Maha Bookstore and has 2 storeys. I couldn’t resist it and bought another book there. (I’m officially broke!) I regret spending so much but I can’t wait to start on them!

I am listening to more mainstream music and being a greedy person, i like almost every boybands out there ㅋㅋㅋ if you don’t mind, you can drop me a mail or add me on msn with the given email addy! =)
