엉뚱한 질문, 쓸데 없는 대답 #1

translates to #ridiculous questions and stupid answers. I think I may have used the adjectives really weirdly, but #ohwells

Here’s a collection of questions that I may or may not have been asked before, and how I wanted to answer them (:

Have you ever done such an interview before?

nope. I don’t think this blog or me is of interest to the general public

Are you a Korea expert?

Even if I had spent the last 6 years of my life in Korea, I won’t even dare to use that term “expert”. I can’t even say I know Singapore all that well too. Ask my friends and they will tell you that I don’t know my way around SG. pfft.

oh, and I get lost in Korea too.

Oh, but at least you know quite a lot about Korea right?

Eh actually not really. I may know more than the average person but not more than the many others who love Korea as well.

Are you a Korean expert, then?

No? Blogging about something doesn’t make me an expert. I just like talking about it.

Do you think your Korean is very good?

I don’t think my Korean is bad. But I won’t say it’s super good either. (not trying to be modest here, I subscribe to the view that if you are good in something, you should flaunt it). I know my limits but I’m happy that I’m improving everyday

How good do you think your Korean is then?

Pretty good for a foreigner and terrible when compared to Koreans? Haven’t met that many people who are a lot better than me… then again I don’t meet many people in the first place. 😛

So will you say that your Korean is one of the best (for a foreigner)?

헐 And I thought I was the one living in my own world. -.- I’ve met a few people who are like super good (way better than me) and obviously there are so many people out there in this world (who I haven’t met) who will be better too. Maybe by having a blog that talks about Korean, I somehow create the impression that I’m extremely good or like one of the best, but the world is super big (: I know people who already pass TOPIK 6 and I’m still working hard to reach that standard!

I’m not so deluded to think I’m anywhere near the best k pfft. Enough of these questions

How will you feel if you meet someone who is better than you?

hehe! The answer depends on my mood. Most of the time I’ll be super motivated to work harder to become like them. On #sour days I’ll be like “meh I could have been as good if I have attended long term classes in Korea”. ㅎㅎㅎ  (I’m honest)

Other reactions include:
