샤방쇼: Korean Radio Podcast with transcripts

SO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE OUR PODCAST! 😀

I have always secretly wanted to be a radio DJ (hahaha) and have been toying with the idea of a Korean podcast (by learners!) for a few years. Sadly, the idea never really took off until.. now!

Screen Shot 2016-02-02 at 11.04.32 AM

The idea of the podcast is simple and divided into 3 sections:

  • English – where we talk about language learning
  • Korean – where we talk about.. anything
  • 사연 corner – for you guys to send in stories and comments (like a real radio!)

To help Korean learners, we have also transcribed the entire Korean dialogue!! 😀 Of course, we are not perfect and we make mistakes, but hopefully it’s helpful!!

To get it going, help us by subscribing to the Youtube Channel and liking the video (and commenting).

EP1 of the Shabang Show is out on www.shabangsong.wordpress.com.

p.s. if you are curious about the show name, listen to find out how it came about 😛

Very super excited for the podcast Shanna! Please make sure you also put it on iTunes so all your followers (including me) can subscribe. You tube is great too, but you can definitely expand your reach if you do both. Have a great one!

Wow, so cool! I’ll definitely be following your episodes. I know this is a little off topic, but your site is all about self-study, right? How did you practice your speaking, then? I currently live in Korea, but I’m not a student and work in an English environment. I don’t really have the means to make Korean friends, and when I do, I’m too shy to speak. Do you just practice by saying things aloud to yourself?

Hi Jasmin! Most of the time I talk to myself and record myself in audio blogs etc but the best way is definitely to speak to natives! Since you are living in Korea, it’s a HUGE advantage that I would love to have – don’t waste it (: You can always attend classes or join some interest groups (: I’m sure there’s always a way to start making friends there! ^^ Don’t be shy, I think your friends would appreciate any efforts to speak in the language. I always believe that you can only get better if you start! So even if you can only say a few words here and there, it’s better than not saying at all
