늑대소년을 본 소감!

Watched WEREWOLF BOY!

4

Sometimes it’s bad for a movie to have too much hype. The movie was totally hyped up in Korea and when it reached Singapore I was totally like OMG I HAVE TO WATCH THIS IT’S GONNA BE SOOOO GOOD. And now I’m like…… mm.

The expectations were too great, so the movie fell flat for me in the end. It would have been a decent movie (even though I’m not fond of the back part of the movie) without the exaggerated hype but now it just feels that it lacked a gut wrenching ending, a strong plot or whatever that will make the lasting impression. (Korean movies are so good that all expectations are raised a notch higher)

That being said, Song Joongki and Park Bo Young were SOOO good in their respective roles! The story was a little flat overall, but I loved loved loved Song Joongki’s portrayal of the wolfboy and the two had good chemistry! Especially enjoyed the first half of the movie 😀 The conflict felt a little too simple towards the back and the resolution……. not my type. I don’t buy it.

Overall, it’s worth watching. There are differing opinions to how great it is though. Some cried really badly throughout the movie while others find it a little disappointing. For me, I did teared in some scenes and the plus one (aka. the bff) was like meh. HAHA. It was so obvious when people in the theatre were rummaging through their bags for tissues and you can hear people sniffing and wiping their eyes. lol.

hehe so I guess either you will find it absolutely fantastic or a little below (the absolutely hyped up) expectations. In any case, worth a watch. Even if it’s just to see Soong Joongki act 😀

p.s. it’s really a lot of fan service in the movie hehehehe. 😀 I loved it!

hehehe and I saw him live up close last year in Korea!! 😀

p.s. I really like Song Joongki so please don’t leave me any 악성댓글 (악글) just because I said I didn’t say the movie was perfect ok!

hehe new slang learnt? ^^

Yeah! I wish it came out in England too! 🙁

It should have been in the Korean Film Festival – and the KFF should’ve been in September or July (obviously I missed it ;_;).

        Nope. I don’t think we’ve ever had a movie that wasn’t English.

Have you read the book? I read the book before watching it and it made me really appreciate the detail that they followed with the source material, however the ending is different. In the book I felt it was a lot more emotional and it was a little more ambiguous, but I felt that when filming they filmed the last scenes all together when there is supposed to be a time jump in the book. As a fan of the book, I thought it was a really good since it mainly stayed true to the book.
