8 In Japanese learning journey (:

“難しい” 역시 어렵구나

Today I said the word 難しい for at least 30 times. Not that I was doing anything particularly difficult.

I was just trying to pronounce 難しい properly and failed at it. Amber had a lot of fun laughing at my 外国人 accent, alternating with the 한국식 발음.

Had a super fun day out, where we spent the bulk of the time laughing at correcting each other’s pronunciation. My Korean-accented Japanese and her Japanese-accented Korean. She was wayyyy better than me. D:

I can’t get the Japanese pronunciation and intonation. Either I sound totally off or I sound like a Korean. Which is pretty interesting. Why would I, of all things, have a Korean accent when I’m Singaporean? I should have a Singaporean-sounding Japanese accent but apparently I don’t. And I’m mad annoyed at the fact that I can’t even pronounce 難しい properly. This shall be my goal. To be able to sound okay in it by Christmas. 4 more days.

Had a lot of fun reading up nonsense sentences in language textbooks and had a good laugh over some of them 😛

And I ate so much today. 돼지 2 마리 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

難しい 難しい 難しい 難しい 難しい 難しい 難しい 難しい 難しい

I’m going to dream of this tonight.

OMG This is totally the same for me!

All my Japanese and Taiwanese friend tell me that I speak Japanese and Chinese with a Korean accent OTL I thought my Korean pronunciation was horrible – but I guess it comes out when I speak other languages ><

In fact, they told me when I speak Japanese it sounds like I speak with country dialect… I guess it's time to study more seriously hehe

When I was learning Japanese and French, I spoke Japanese-accented French. It was way off and just terrible. >< This is why I can't learn two languages at the same time.

hehe Japanese-accented French 😛 I wonder how that sounds like. I’m quite interested in French these days. For the sole (not so good) reason that it’s featured in Cheongdamdong Alice. XD

This has me wondering how my Japanese innotation sounds. XD At the moment I’m just proud that I could read that kanji without thinking twice. I think it’s time to meet up with a Japanese friend before he goes back to Japan and get him to help me with that. XD I’m hoping my pronunciation is okay since I listened to Japanese a lot as a child, but my Korean pronunciation… HAHAHALOL I’m thinking it’s terrible, but I won’t know that until I hear what a Korean thinks. I mainly feel like it’s terrible since my ears are still new to it (about 2 years of hearing it) and I have trouble looking at text and reading it. I hesitate a lot. XD Want me to read Japanese? Okay. With kanji? Okay. Korean? HAAAA No. It gives me more reasons to practice though.
