7 In Japanese learning journey (:

My love-hate relationship with Japanese.

I hate the fact that I’m taking Japanese lessons in school but I love it when I’m self-studying the language. Although I haven’t been blogging much about my Japanese study, the truth is that I’ve been spending more time these days on Japanese. In some sense. I get exposed to more Korean materials but when it comes to ‘studying’, I do more for Japanese.

So far my strategy is to use one book/site until I reached a point where things get too difficult for me. Then I’ll switch to another site/book and then come back again when I feel more comfortable with that level. And it’s working. kinda.

I shall do a review for KU’s Japanese textbook soon. (:

I’m sorry I don’t have much to say about learning Japanese at the moment.

BTW Nice SSK-blog banner. It definitely caught my attention, and probably’ll anyone else who frequents this blog.

Try out the ‘Genki’ series, it was something that helped me in my initial learning days. … you should find an online copy on scribd.com

I actually loved taking Japanese classes in college. My self-study didn’t get me very far beyond memorizing the kana sets, but in 2 years I was able to understand lots of grammar and kanji and everything else.

I’m guessing it would be the same if I went from self-studying Korean to taking classes as well, but the local community college classes only go through 2 levels.
